EDIT HOSTS FILES IN WINDOWS EASILY

This guide shows you how to edit hosts file in Windows 10 PC easily without any third-partysoftware. The hosts file is an important system file which maps the host/site names with it’s IPaddresses. Basically, it translates the host nameto IP and IP to host name. So the browsing andaccessing other network places/shares by ‘name’ will be smoother by avoiding DNS server requests.

Steps:-
1 .Type Notepad in search box, right-click on the Notepad app and select Run as administrator.


2. When notepad is open click on File and select Open.


3. Open Host file in Notepad by going below path.

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Make sure you select All Files instead of Text Documents(*.txt)

Select hosts file and click on open.


3. This is your Host File.


4. Once notepad is open you can edit the file. In this example, we will block Facebook. To do this just enter in the following after the # mark.

0.0.0.0    www.facebook.com


5. Now that you have edited your Hosts file make sure to save it.


Now notice if you try to access Facebook in the browser you can’t get to the page.
